We’re the Scheelks — a family passionate about hands-on learning, community, and helping kids thrive. When we started homeschooling our own children, we realized how much richer the experience could be when parents, students, and families come together to teach, explore, and grow.
Moving Mountains Homeschool Co-op was born out of this vision: a welcoming, parent-led homeschool community where students from kindergarten through high school can learn, play, and create alongside peers — and where parents actively participate in teaching, mentoring, and building friendships.
Our goal is simple: provide a safe, inspiring, and fun environment where children can develop academically, socially, and creatively, while families support one another along the homeschooling journey.
Join us and discover how learning together makes the climb — and the view — so much more rewarding.
Founded in 2022, Moving Mountains Homeschool Co-op was established by Heather and Steven Scheelk, alongside a group of homeschooling parents who shared a common vision: creating a community where families could find support, encouragement, friendship, and enriching educational opportunities for their children.
What began as a desire to connect homeschooling families has grown into a thriving Christ-centered community where parents and students learn, serve, and grow together.
Moving Mountains Homeschool Co-op exists to support and encourage homeschooling families by fostering a Christ-centered community where children and parents can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships.
Through educational enrichment opportunities, shared experiences, and mutual support, we strive to cultivate a love of learning, strengthen family connections, and equip students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
We believe that homeschooling was never meant to be done alone. By collaborating with one another and partnering with God, we seek to serve each other through our unique gifts and strengths while encouraging one another in our homeschooling journeys.
